Attempting to roll over

Kaden has been trying so hard to roll over the past few days. He'll get so close, but his arm gets in the way. He hasn't been quite strong enough to get all the way over. This morning he laid on his play mat for 20-30 min. The whole time he was trying to roll over. I caught a few minutes on video. He's so cute to watch. I'm sure he'll get it in the next couple of weeks.

Water Baby

Kaden LOVES the water! Bath time & swimming!

I think it's both of our favorite time of the day! He loves taking a bath, and I love watching him enjoy it so much!

Look at those big smiles while he takes a bath.

As you can see from the pics, getting out is not his favorite, but he's still so darn cute in his hooded towels!

Just another day...

Today Kaden woke up in such a good mood. After he ate and played on his mat, I laid him on my bed so I could get some stuff done in my room.

He was so happy & smiley that I decided to get out my camera. He was posing for me the whole time.

He had some of the biggest grins, and even a few little giggles.

Look at that face! How can you not love it??

After taking several pics, I put him in his pack-n-play so I could get ready. He was perfectly content there.

However, all the play & pictures wore him out. It didn't take him long to fall fast asleep. (I love how he always sleeps with at least one arm up...sometimes both!)

After his nap, we decided to venture out. We went to WalMart & Hobby Lobby. He was so good! He just chilled in his seat while mommy shopped.

We ended our busy day with daddy & Olive Garden. He was good there too! He sat while we ate. He didn't get fussy until the very end. Probably due to the dirty diaper he'd created. I'm not sure why he always insists on dirtying his diaper while we're out to eat!?!

He was such a good boy for mom today! We had so much fun! I love my job!!

Enjoying the outdoors!

Last night my brother grilled chicken & fish for us. I mentioned HERE that it appears Kaden may be a thumb sucker. For several days, he was sucking his thumb. However, after a few days we didn't notice him doing that trick any more. We thought it might have been short lived. Then, the past two days, he's "remembered" his trick. As you can see in this picture, he was quite content with his Papa & his thumb as we sat outside waiting for dinner. So the verdict's still out. We're not sure if he's still in discovery mode and he's just playing, or if this will become a permanent habit.

To be or not to be...a thumb sucker

As you can see from the pics, Kaden has discovered his thumb. It's so funny to watch him.

He'll try all fingers, fists, & a combination of fingers before he gets comfy with his thumb. But once he's comfy, he goes to town.

I call him Mr. Smacky cause he can get quite loud while he's sucking on his thumb. We laugh as we're driving dow the road, cause we can hear him in the front seat when he's found his thumb.

I'm not sure how long this new trick will stick around, but I hope it does for a little while. I think it's so cute when he's sucking his thumb!

I know it's a hard habit to break, but for now, we'll enjoy watching our little thumb sucker!!

I wanna play with the big boys!

On the weekends, Micah & some of the boys from the church always try to find time to play some basketball. Last weekend, Kaden & I walked to the park once the sun started to go down, and it was cooling off. He sat in his stroller while we  (I) watched the boys play. I can't wait for him to be big enough to play with the "big kids." I don't want to rush his baby days, but I'm excited about his "big boy" days too! He loves being outside now, and I hope it stays that way. Sports & outdoor fun run in the family, so we look forward to many outdoor adventures!!

Lunch with Nana & Big Papa

Last week we went to Katy to have lunch with my grandparents. They always get so excited to see Kaden. He slept through most of lunch. However, just as we were all finishing, he woke up. Nana was excited she got to hold him. Of course my dad picked him up as soon as he woke up, but my Nana quickly stole him. They loved on him until it was time to leave. I didn't have my camera with me, but thought this picture turned out pretty good for an iPhone photo. We really enjoyed lunch with Nana & Big Papa!
