10 Months

I feel like I'm getting later, and later at writing his monthly blogs. I'm not sure what my deal is! And it doesn't help that K is not at all cooperative during our photo shoots!! He's all over the place and doesn't care that I need some good pics!!!
  Stats:
I took Kaden to the Dr. right around his 10 month birthday. He had a cold, and a double ear infection. He weighed in at 19 lbs, 4 oz. When I took him back yesterday for a re-check, he was 19 lbs, 8 oz. Growing every day!
 Sleeping Habits:
Kaden is doing MUCH better in the sleeping department. He sleeps through the night now. Finally!! Usually 8-10 hours! He usually wakes up between 6:30-7:30, but after he nurses he goes back to sleep for a couple hours. He's also doing better at nap time.

Eating Habits:
If Kaden likes anything, he likes to eat! He LOVES fruits. All kinds...blue berries, bananas, strawberries, kiwi, blackberries, watermelon, oranges. He's not picky when it comes to fruit. We've also discovered recently that he loves chicken. His favorite foods are probably crackers, bananas, blue berries, and carrots. He's also been drinking a lot of juice, and we're planning to introduce milk soon.

 New Tricks:
Kaden has found his tongue. You'll notice in most of the pics, his tongue is sticking out. That's how he looks these days. He just chews on it. I think it's a combo of him discovering his tongue, and teething. His newest word is mama. He'll crawl to me, raise his hands, and say mama. Melts my heart! He can give high fives too! I'm trying to work with him on baby sign language, but neither of us are very good at it.

Dr. Visits:
I had to take Kaden to the Dr. right before his 10 month b-day. He had a yucky cough, runny nose, and double ear infection. He was on antibiotics for about 2 weeks to clear up the ear infections. I really hope that this doesn't become a reoccurring thing.

General Observations:
Kaden will be walking before we know it. He already gets brave and tries to stand on his own. He has stood for a couple seconds at a time, but he usually gets excited and falls. It's amazing how fast time flies when you're having fun!!!

3 Years of Wedded Bliss

Almost 9 years ago, I met this really cute boy with a bunch of friends at a basketball game. I don't really remember, the basketball game so much, although Micah often reminds me that he remembers it quite vividly. Apparently me, and other girls, kept walking in front of him to go get snacks, drinks, RR, etc. I don't remember that, but I do remember hanging out with a bunch of people afterwards, and I do remember instantly having a crush on him!
We very quickly became good friends. I never wanted to jeopardize the friendship we had, but I always liked him. I just waited patiently (and not so patiently sometimes), and hoped and prayed he'd eventually like me too.
We had so much fun together with mutual friends in college, and made tons of great memories! Towards the end of our college career, we began dating. Our road of dating that led to engagement was a little rocky, but we pushed through it (sometimes reluctantly), and survived.
On October 11th, 2008, my best friend asked me to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him!
I was so excited!! What had seemed like something that may never happen, was happening, and it couldn't have happened any better, any sooner, or more perfect than it did! God definitely works all things together for us!

On March 14th, 2009, I walked down the aisle and said "I do" to Micah.
I still do, and forever will love this man! He's been a wonderful husband! More than any girl could dream of, or deserve!
We started our marriage with an amazing honeymoon, and life since then has been just as great!!
Yes, we have our ups and downs. Yes we have the occasional argument (which I take about 99% of the blame for). And yes, we have to work at a happy life and marriage.
But I could not have picked any better of a person to spend my life with, walk out my daily goals & plans, and see the life that God unfolds for us on a daily basis with.
I love you Micah! My best fried. My love. Thank you for the years of laughter, fun, happiness, and love. I look forward to so many more!!

Houston Rodeo: Take 2

Every year we take a family trip to the Rodeo. Last night we went to the Rodeo & concert. We saw the Zac Brown Band. It was a really good concert!
Daisy was wearing Kaden's hat since he wasn't interested in wearing it. Kaden fell asleep on the way to the rodeo, and slept the whole bus ride until we got to the rodeo.
The first thing I wanted to do was ride the carousel. I had a feeling Kaden would like it, and when Micah & I took Kaden it was drizzling off and on and cool outside, so we didn't ride it.
Oh my goodness, look at my handsome cowboy with his hat and boots.
Daisy & Serena had fun on the carousel as well.

I'm so glad we rode it. It's the little things in life that make you happy!

While we were walking through the livestock show looking at the animals, someone asked my dad if Kaden would like to pet the cow. Of course he loved it. We even sat him on top of the cow, and he probably would have hung out there all night.
Kaden was so good during the rodeo. He was clapping and cheering the whole time. Right before the concert started they turned out the lights and had fireworks. He stared the whole time, then his little chin started to quiver. I think the last loud pop scared him a little. But, once the music started, he fell asleep and slept the whole concert.
We had a great time with our family at the rodeo!

A Visit to the Ranch

Sunday after church we all headed out to my Aunt & Uncle's ranch for the afternoon/evening. We always have a good time when we go hang out with them.
My Uncle made ribs, and we gave Kaden a bone to chew on. As a teething baby, he liked having a chew toy.
It had been raining for several days, so there was mud and standing water everywhere, but that didn't stop us from exploring for a little bit.

There are two things that Kaden loves: swinging & his Aunt Daisy. Swinging with his Aunt Daisy was a bonus for him! He was all grins the whole time!! There was even some giggles while they were swinging.

Then he decided to lay back and just get comfy. Had him & Daisy stayed on the swings for too much longer, I'm pretty sure he would have passed out.

Then we put Kaden on the tire "horse" swing. I wasn't quite sure he could balance by himself, so I stayed close by, but he was loving it!

We introduced Kaden to some of the horses. He wasn't all that amused. But it was nap time, and he was getting tired.

(Kaden playing peek-a-boo with Uncle Ryan)
My Uncle had a fire going in the pit, and we all sat outside talking for hours. Kaden roamed from person to person, giving the dogs kisses along the way. (and sharing his snacks with them)

My Uncle loved how Kaden would smile and pose whenever I got the camera out.
We had a great family day at the ranch!!!
