Bluebonnets...take 2!

My friend Melanie and I have been trying to take our boys to the bluebonnets for the past several weeks. Every time we've planned to go, it's either rained the day of or the day before. We've had to cancel and reschedule several times. We finally made it Friday. The bluebonnets are starting to thin, and you could see big patches where people have already stopped, but we did our best to get some decent shots. Of course, our boys stayed true to their ways, and they didn't give us many smile. We keep thinking they'll get better, but they haven't yet. Oh well....

I'd like to point out that this (below) is Kaden's fake cry face. He makes a moaning sound like he's crying, but there's never any tears. It's sad how soon they learn!
I brought my secret weapon (Daisy), and knew for sure I'd get some smiles with her there. Nope!!

We had a good time! Melanie & I don't plan on giving up any time soon! We're going to have pics of our little guys together for every holiday and major milestone...smiles or not!!!

We declare it's Summer Time!

Today, we decided it was summer time! We had a work day at our church this morning. The guys spent hours cleaning out beds, power washing, mowing, raking leaves, etc. Us ladies focused on inside...cleaning, decorating for Easter, etc. Poor Kaden was stuck inside with girls all day. He wanted to be outside. He'd sit by the door, and hope one of the guys that were in and out would take him out. Mom & I took turns walking him outside, but he wanted to be down playing, and there was too much going on. So when we got home, we made daddy mow the yard, and we had splash day. I pulled weeds while K splashed around and climbed in and out of the pool. He loved it! I have a feeling we'll be doing this a lot this summer!!

Mom of the Year

Kids do crazy things. And I've learned now once they start crawling, cruising, and climbing, you can't turn your back for even a second. Otherwise, you'll turn back around to find something like this. I have no idea how he climbed up there, or how he stayed balanced enough that the truck didn't flip forward from all his weight. But it didn't. And he was perfectly happy talking to all the birds and bugs outside. I love my job...as crazy as it may be sometimes!!

Dallas Trip

This past weekend we flew to Dallas. Yes...we flew from Houston to Dallas. Why fly, you might ask. Well, at the end of April we are flying to Korea. Yes...we are taking our almost 1 year old on a 15 hour flight to Korea. Micah's brother lives there, and he's getting married. So us, along with Micah's parents, aunt, uncle, & brother are flying to Korea for 10 days. It should be interesting. Anyway, we decided to do a test flight to check Kaden's ears, behavior, etc. Not that you can compare a 1 hour flight to a 15 hour flight, but he did GREAT on the 1 hour flight.

Here he is checking out the planes while we were waiting to board.
Kaden loved playing with the dogs while we were at Gradma's & Grandpops.

Grandma had heard how much Kaden loves blueberries, so she had some ready for him!
They also knew how much he liked to swing, so they had one ready to go on the back porch. It was a nice swing, and Kaden loved it the whole weekend!

Mommy was excited that there are way more bluebonnets in the Dallas area, than where we live. We don't have much at all. So, we went to one of Micah's parents friend's house to borrow their blue bonnets. Kaden was pretty uncooperative. He wouldn't give us any smiles. He was more interested in playing with the flowers.

Good thing he's cute no matter what.

Micah & I took turns sitting with him. We hoped that might help get some smiles.
 It didn't!!

This is the closest to a smile we got.

Oh well, we had a great time in Dallas with Micah's family!!!

Easter Fun

Last weekend the Rosenberg Police Dept. had an Easter Egg hunt for their families. Since my father is the Police Chaplain, he (and his family) were invited. They had the Easter bunny show up and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Kaden isn't quite old enough for an egg hunt, but we let him pick up a few.

He had more fun shaking them to hear the candy inside rattle.

And then he had fun chewing on the eggs. He wasn't at all scared or impressed with the bunny. He just sat chewing on his egg. He wouldn't smile or anything.
Daisy & Serena were trying to take a pic with the Easter bunny, but he was dancing & they were laughing, so it was pretty much a FAIL!
We thought Kaden would like sliding down the slide in the air bounce, since he typically likes slides. But that was also a Fail. He wasn't a big fan.
However, being thrown in the air...that was fun!!

Smashing confetti eggs all over everyone...that was fun!!
And chasing the big bubbles...that was probably the most fun!! He loves bubbles!!
We were so grateful that we were invited to the picnic. We had a great time!!

Swinging

I bought a swing for Kaden several weeks back. With our crazy weather & crazy schedule, we just hadn't hooked it up yet. Micah finally hung it last weekend. Kaden LOVES it!!! We make swinging a part of our daily schedule.
